Can't Get Keyboard To Work With Nuendo

Postby bearmee1 » 28 Oct 2013, 18:22

Hi I purchased your pianist pro program to use as a wireless midi keyboard with virtual synths in Nuendo 4 and/or pro tools 10 but I can't seem to get it to work.

I've tried connecting using the OSC option and following the instructions. I installed pure data, got the script from pianist pro via iTunes and opened it with PD and when it opens i get the following which I'm assuming is why the app doesn't work for me:

import mrpeach
... couldn't create
udpreceive 8000
... couldn't create
routeOSC /mcmpp
... couldn't create
unpackOSC
... couldn't create
s2l /
... couldn't create
s2l /
... couldn't create
repeat 128
... couldn't create
modulo_counter 128 0
... couldn't create
modulo_counter 16
... couldn't create
repeat 16
... couldn't create
s2l /
... couldn't create
routeOSC /notesoff /key /cc /pitch
... couldn't create

Thank you in advanced for your help.

I think you need to get the "full" installation of PureData, because the error is saying that it can't find the (needed) "mrpeach" extensions.

I'd also advise that you try to use the newer and better "Network MIDI" option for MIDI. This is a protocol built into OSX, but there are free drivers for the PC that use the same underlying RTP framework. Google for "RTP MIDI" and you should find one. Prior to Network MIDI, OSC was the best option for wireless MIDI, and it's still pretty good, but, as you have found out, has additional installation requirements.
